 My obsessive affair with “Chinoserie” began when I saw the motion picture Auntie Maime for the first time. Gone were the shackles that tethered me to the convention of the western world. Rosalyn Russell showed me that indeed, “Life’s a banquet, and the trouble is – those poor suckers are starving out there!”  Since that moment, I have yearned to explore and even, own, a little piece of the exotic, much like Maime, rather naturally, vowed to do.
